Came in March 24 needing emergency repairs on a delivery boat. It was pre season and Hoffman's had the mechanic and space. Great restaurants near by. Thanks again Larry
Taylor Jean Sport Fishing is proud to call Hoffman's West Marina as our home port. The people there are superb and very accommodating from Tara at the front desk to Mike and Ryan and Jay in sales. It's nice to see an owner as heavily invested and involved as Larry is as well. What these guys have accomplished for the area and the marina's in such a short time is incredible. Love the pool and soon to be restaurant and bar. We've been docking here since super storm Sandy and have no intent of going anywhere. Just bought a Heritage 231 from them as well to keep behind our house in the lagoon and Jay and Mike made the experience very easy and satisfying. Capt. Ken Taylor Jean Sport Fishing
Very capable and friendly staff. Excellent restaurant on site.
They've made significant investments in the marina. The slips and facilities are top notch. Docking at B Dock is....an adventure!
Very conveniently located. There is a lot (a lot) of current here but if you can make it to the fuel dock (and you can) they will get you into a slip without any fuss, stress or problems. Top notch service. The bathroom and shower borders on luxurious. Hoffman's has a marine store very nearby. We walked 1 mile to get to a very well stocked grocery store. Lots of restaurants nearby. I would definitely come back here.
Amazing place! Larry is a very hands on owner with amazing attention to detail. The facility is perfect. Cleanest head and nicest shower I have ever seen in a marina. The Restaurant (Waypoint) had great food - so much so that I went back with my wife on the way driving to the shore. Everyone was super nice and polite from the wait staff to the ships store personell. I think other marinas should come here to see how it is suppoed to be done!
Excellent customer service. They answer the phone after hours. Offered to have someone come in to get us fuel at night (we declined and stayed overnight instead) dockhand Mike gave us good local advice for our trip and came in early the next morning to make sure we got our fuel and got underway early. Clean shower too.
Stopped overnight to split the Atlantic City to NYC run. Stayed at the end of T dock on the other side of narrow train bridge. Decent current, but it's parallel to the dock, so really not a problem. Might have heard trains had it been warm enough to have doors open, but even then, they're commuter trains, pretty quiet, I don't think it would have bothered us. Marina restaurant is a little swanky, spend, but plenty tasty. Groceries/beverages were a pretty good walk away. Would stop again to split this trip...
Stayed here for a nice weekend, and the facilities and staff were top notch. The Dockmaster, Mike, was very helpful and made sure i was treated like a friend or family. There was some instances of boaters ignoring the no wake zone that is around the marina, but thats not their fault. I will certainly be back.
We just recently went here in our 45ft sport fish for the first time. Dock master Mike was awsome and extreamly helpfull. Facilities were very clean and nice. On sight resturant and bar was great. The owner was on scene everyday and very helpfull. We will go back for sure. Just need to pick your day and how the inlet is, but extreamly straight forward. Watch the current!!!
We stopped at Hoffman's on the way South in September, 2014, and because of our favorable experience we came back to them for another night on our return trip North. The inlet is not too difficult to handle even with the swells, and the marina is close to the inlet. the railroad bridge is not a trouble. The marina personnel was very accommodating even when we arrived after their closing time, both last year and this time. "Mike" came in after hours to direct us to our slip, and gave us expert help in docking. They gave us both Boat Us and Active Captain doscount. The facilities are first class. This is a well managed marina. Although we are a 36' sailing sloop and the marina had many expensive sportfisherman boats in the slips we felt comfortable.
Just want to chime in for a thanks to the staff. Wrapped something on my prop about 6mi off shore. SeaTow advised to head here. Friday afternoon. Seatow diver couldn't remove stuff wrapped in my prop/shaft. After asking Mike if I could jump in his travel lift he made it happen on short notice although they were clearly busy. Staff was friendlly and helpful. 15 minutes in the lift and I had the debris cut out and I was on my way. They charged me a very reasonable haul-out fee and didn't take advantage of the situation. Wish I was there under better circumstances but appreciated the prompt, fiendly and fair treatment.
The dock hands are very helpful & the facility is well maintained. Have enjoyed each visit & intend to keep coming. Current & tide are tough but manageable.
This is our first time south. We normally cruise in the Great Lakes so we are used to some current, but the current at this marina was very powerful on arrival. Sal, the dock master was extremely helpful guiding us into our slip. They have a nice welcome booklet listing local amenities, but we did not take advantage of any of them. We did use their bathrooms and they are gorgeous.
Due to some logistical issues we decided to try Hoffman's for a crew members pickup. We called late in the day to arrange a slip. Our arrival was after closing and two employees stayed late to help us to our slip. While docking my bow thruster failed and they quickly had us go to the fuel dock for the night. The staff was very professional and made sure we were all set. The morning staff was also helpful and did not try to rush us off. The other reviews on current, tides, marina, etc... are on the mark. Good people. we will be back.
A motor vessel of any kind would be right at home here and its crew might well give Hoffman's 5 stars! Larry and staff are professional and attentive; facilities first-class and complete (other than a laundry room; still in the works this date 09/14). A small sailboat like ours--27'--tied off at the tee-head does take a bit of a beating from passing traffic. Fender-boards would help but it would still be rolly all day. It does settle down pretty much at night. The bridge / train / whistle / siren-thing will be too much for some but didn't bother us. Brielle's an easy walk up the street; breakfast at Eloise's is well worth it - delicious! And a number of dinner options are likewise right around the corner. Hoffman's has THE best restrooms - showers of any yacht club / marina we've seen from Virginia to Maine. There's a nice pool, too. And everybody at Hoffman's is friendly and helpful. We'd give it 5-stars but for boats speeding by creating a wake 'til nighttime and Larry can't do much about that.
I purchased a new Sportsman center console there today. Mike and his crew where great. Class act. Saw them at the boat show. No pressure, just good business. Thanks again guys for the quality deal. Doug Lanzo.
A great yard. Formidable service. I will surly see you again.
Best marina in NJ, no doubt about it. I've been there for 4 years now, best people, best location.
